The Truth About Protein Snacks: What to Look For and What to Avoid
The protein snack market is flooded with products that look good on the outside but fall short where it counts. As a TITAN athlete, you deserve better. Here's how to cut through the noise and choose snacks worthy of your crown.
What to Look For
Real Protein Content
Don't be fooled by marketing. Check the actual protein per serving — not per 100g. A quality protein snack should deliver at least 8-15g of protein per serving from clean, whole-food sources like almonds, hazelnuts, pea protein, or plant-based blends.
Clean Ingredients
The ingredient list should be short and recognizable. If you can't pronounce it, your body probably doesn't need it. Look for whole food ingredients, natural sweeteners, and zero artificial preservatives.
No Palm Oil
Palm oil is a cheap filler used by many snack brands. It adds unhealthy saturated fats and contributes to environmental destruction. TITAN never uses palm oil — period.
Low Sugar Formula
Many "protein" snacks are glorified candy bars. Check the sugar content — a quality protein snack should be low in added sugars and sweetened naturally if at all.
What to Avoid
- Artificial sweeteners — aspartame, sucralose, and acesulfame-K disrupt gut health
- Palm oil — cheap, unhealthy, and environmentally destructive
- Proprietary blends — hiding how little actual protein is in the product
- Excessive sugar — more than 10g per serving is a red flag
- Artificial colors and preservatives — your body doesn't need them
